When Hermann Ohlicher transferred from FV Ravensburg to VfB Stuttgart in 1975, he began a twelve-year success story with the Red-and-White. The longtime captain embodied loyalty, reliability, and tireless dedication like few others—both on and off the field. In 460 competitive matches, he scored 158 goals and became a defining figure in VfB history.

During the 1980-81 and 1981-82 seasons, Ohlicher wore this simple yet elegant jersey in numerous important matches. He experienced one of his most memorable moments on April 18, 1981, in a home game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen: In a thrilling match, he scored the celebrated winning goal to make it 2-1 shortly before the final whistle, sending the stadium into a frenzy.

This decisive victory was a key building block for a strong season, at the end of which VfB Stuttgart rewarded itself with an outstanding third-place finish in the Bundesliga - led by a captain who embodied the red chest ring with passion.
