Cannstatt Culture: The New 2026/2027 Home Jersey
VfB’s new home jersey takes us on a journey through time in the Stuttgart neighborhood of Bad Cannstatt and its cultural heritage.
From mineral water springs and the district’s early history to its colors and achievements: With the jerseys for the 2026/2027 season, VfB pays tribute to its home district of Bad Cannstatt. This tribute was created in close collaboration with equipment supplier JAKO and main sponsor LBBW. And it takes all white-and-red fans and members on a cultural journey through Bad Cannstatt. The journey begins with the unveiling of the home jersey today, Wednesday. The inspiration for the jersey comes from water as part of Cannstatt’s cultural heritage.
Bad Cannstatt’s history is closely linked to its abundant mineral water reserves. The volume of water produced here is the second-largest in Europe. As many as 13 springs are state-recognized healing springs. The mineral water not only feeds the numerous fountains of today but was also once a decisive factor in the early settlements at the Neckar bend. Furthermore, Cannstatt’s international reputation as a spa and bathing town in the mid-19th century helped ensure that English spa guests introduced soccer there earlier than almost anywhere else in Germany. In doing so, they laid the foundation for Cannstatt’s great soccer tradition.
VfB’s home jersey for the 2026–2027 season blends this cultural history with modernity. The striking design features a full-surface motif that is both visible and tactile, inspired by the “Klösterlebrunnen” fountain in Cannstatt and combined with typical regional symbols such as antlers and the “Rössle.” The red chest ring is visually extended across the dyed sleeves and flows upward in a rippling pattern, reminiscent of Cannstatt mineral water. The high-quality VfB embroidered emblem is intentionally larger. The design is rounded out by a narrow crew neck in the club’s white and red colors, featuring one of the oldest depictions of the “Cannstatter Kanne” on the back of the neck.
