Cannstatt Colours: The Away Jersey 2026/2027
VfB Stuttgart is deeply rooted in Bad Cannstatt. The away jersey expresses this connection in a special way, completing the club’s three-part tribute to the district.
Colours, crest, landmarks: With the away jersey for the 2026/2027 season, VfB Stuttgart completes its tribute to Bad Cannstatt. Fans and members can look forward to a special journey through familiar elements of the district that is home to VfB. Like the home and third jerseys, the away jersey was created in close cooperation with kit supplier JAKO and main sponsor LBBW. EnBW also enabled the campaign to be photographed inside the historic water reservoir.
Cannstatt was first officially documented around 700 AD, making it the oldest district of Stuttgart. Its eventful history and numerous cultural landmarks can be experienced in many places, from the Kurpark and the Wasen to the Wilhelma. These characteristics, together with the area’s rich mineral water springs, have shaped the identity of its residents. This connection is even more significant for VfB Stuttgart 1893, as the club has been based almost exclusively in Cannstatt since its foundation. The away jersey symbolises this deep-rooted connection and carries a piece of home with VfB on its travels.
Classic jersey with retro elements
The traditional Cannstatt colours of red and white form the basis of the classic VfB away jersey featuring the iconic chest ring. The high-quality embroidered VfB crest is deliberately larger, creating a retro feel together with the white-and-red collar. This look is complemented by JAKO’s Retro logo, while the usual signature dots on the shoulders have been deliberately omitted. The jersey fabric features a unique woven pattern inspired by the mineral composition of Cannstatt’s mineral water and provides a high level of comfort. The structure also incorporates elements from the home jersey, which are reflected in the embroidered sleeve cuffs. The crest of Bad Cannstatt on the back completes the overall jersey concept and further emphasises this tribute to the district that is home to VfB.
Karsten Petry, VfB Stuttgart Board Member for Marketing and Sales, says: “We represent VfB Stuttgart on our travels through the cities and stadiums of German football with our teams, our fans and our values. Together with JAKO and our partners, we have created a classic and beautiful jersey with unique colours and design that is a perfect fit for VfB. With this away jersey, we always carry a visible piece of our home with us.”
Tobias Röschl, Board Member for Marketing & Sales at JAKO, says: “The away jersey marks the conclusion of the three-part tribute to Bad Cannstatt. It was important to us to consistently emphasise the distinctive character of this design. That is why we deliberately decided to leave out our signature shoulder dots and use the JAKO Retro logo for this jersey. This highlights the look of the jersey and gives the shared idea the space it deserves.”
The jerseys are produced to JAKO’s usual high-quality standards and are made largely from recycled materials.
